Hi! I write things, direct things, and run a creative team at Hawthorne Advertising ORIGINALLY in LA, NOW IN PORTLAND. I've been there fifteen-ish years, which in advertising time is roughly four lifetimes. Started as a copywriter, worked my way up, somehow ended up in charge.

Before all that I edited commercials, produced daytime TV (ask me about it sometime — or don't), and got a film degree from Columbia College Chicago that I absolutely still use.

When I'm not working I'm probably in the garden, in over my head with a woodworking project, trying to make some AI tool do a thing it doesn't want to do, or arguing with myself about paint colors. I read about psychology and neuroscience for fun, which says something about me but I'm not sure what.

I like making stuff with smart people. I like making clients feel like they're in good hands. I like a weird idea pitched with confidence.
